Mia's fascination with the beauty of gems inspires her designs. She creates pieces that highlight the natural beauty of the jewels. Simple, elegant styles offer versatility. Originality and distinction in design are a must.

MIA's special love is to create extraordinary one of a kind pieces. Her designs were originally featured in art galleries. Today museums such as the Knoxville Museum of Art and the Hickory NC Museum of Art as well as leading galleries showcase her work.

Frequently consulted on style and design, MIA produces and hosts fashions shows at venues such as the SJTA Atlanta Jewelry Show.  She also enjoys interacting with clients at jewelry designer Trunk Shows and seeing her creations find their perfect owner...an "Aha!" moment. Mia has a doctorate in aesthetics from the University of Chicago. She's regularly featured in top media publications such as InStore Magazine, The Retail Jeweler, Rapaport Report, Jewelers Circular Keystone, Southern Jewelry News, Mid America Jewelry News, Adornment and Texas Jewelers.

MIA has traveled around the world collecting world-class precious gems, from Colombian emeralds to Tahitian pearls. She has studied metalsmithing from master goldsmiths.

Formerly a Philosophy Professor, Mia loves to speak and write about all aspects of jewelry. A columnist for Southern Jewelry News, she also gives seminars at industry conferences such as the American Gem Society Conclave.

Her studio and offices are in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in northwestern North Carolina. She derives inspiration from the abundant natural beauty of the region.
